Two-wheeler lifters nabbed: Eight vehicles worth Rs. 8 lakh recovered

Mysore/Mysuru: Udayagiri Police have arrested two youths on charges of lifting bikes and scooters parked in front of houses and have recovered seven bikes and one scooter stolen by them.

The arrested are Shoaib and Arbaz Khan, both 19-years-old and residents of  K.N. Pura.

On Jan. 31 night, the duo had stolen a TVS Apache bike (KA-55-J-4902) of one Mohammed Salman, who had parked it in front of his house at Rajivnagar. Salman had lodged a complaint with  Udayagiri Police.

The Cops, who swung into action, began their investigation and during their regular beat on Feb. 11 at about 6.15 am, they stopped Shoaib and Arbaz, who were on a bike near Ali Park in Udayagiri and conducted an enquiry. As the two did not give satisfactory reply, the Police brought them to the Police Station.

During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of stealing one Royal Enfield, two KTM bikes, three Yamaha RX bikes, one TVS Apache bike and one Honda Activa scooter at Udayagiri, N.R. Mohalla, Vijayanagar, Nazarbad, Saraswathipuram and Devaraja Police  limits in city.

Based on the information provided by the accused, the Police have recovered all eight two-wheelers worth Rs. 8 lakh from them. The accused used to steal the vehicles using duplicate keys or by breaking the handle lock.

DCP M.S. Geetha Prasanna and Devaraja Sib-Division ACP M.N. Shashidhar supervised Udayagiri Inspector N.M. Poonacha, Sub-Inspectors M. Jayakeerthi, Madankumar, Nataraj and Maruthi, ASI Diwakar and staff M. Shankar, Siddiq Ahmed, Mohankumar, R.S. Krishna, Shivarajappa, Malathi and Bhavya in the nabbing and recovery operation.
