‘Competitive exam centres to come up in all districts’

February 15, 2021

Mysore/Mysuru: Dr. Shalini Rajneesh, Addl. Chief Secretary, Planning, Youth Empowerment and Sports Department, said that Higher Education and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. C.S. Ashwathnarayan, has responded positively for setting up of the competitive examination training centres in all districts.

She was speaking online to wish students who are undergoing training for the competitive exams organised at Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) auditorium on Friday.

Dr. Shalini hoped that State Budget for the year 2021-22 would earmark funds to establish competitive examination training centres in all districts from the next year.

There was a need to set up such centres in taluk headquarters to help IAS and KAS aspirants from rural areas. In State, the youths number about 2.5 crore of which only 30 percent opt for degree and higher education. So, they need to attract the rest 70 percent towards the higher education, she added.

N. Rajashekar, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Nagaland, said undergoing training under duress from parents was of no use. Students must study the subjects of their interest and excel. Solving more question papers and keeping abreast of current developments was vital to improve general knowledge, he noted.

D. Bharathi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Hassan Zilla Panchayat (ZP), said that the 60-day training being given by the Varsity was very helpful for the candidates to crack the competitive examination.

“Urge for knowledge was important for those who wish to climb the ladder of success. Even after occupying top posts, they should evince keen interest for learning,” she added.
