National VedangaJyotishya Meet in city on Apr.17 and 18

A two-day National-level VedangaJyotishya Meet will be held on Apr. 17 and 18 at KSOU’s Cauvery auditorium in city. Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Sri MayakaraGurukula Founder Dr.MuguruMadhuDikshit said that this will be the fourth edition of the National event organised by Sri MayakaraGurukula in association with Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bengaluru and Karnataka RajyaJyotishyaMathuJyotishyaBodhanaOkkoota.

The two-day meet will feature lectures, sessions, presentations.Housing Minister V. Somanna will inaugurate the meet on Apr.17. Dr. Prakash R. Pagoji of Karnataka Sanskrit University will release the souvenir.  Dr. K.G. Puttahonnaiah will preside.

Renowned Music Director Arjun Janya will be conferred ‘Sangeetha Taponidhi’ award while Lyricist Dr. V. Nagendra Prasad will be conferred ‘SahityaTaponidhi’ award, actor TablaNani will be conferred ‘Kala Taponidhi’ award and actress Rushika Raj (Saroja) of Tagaru-fame, will be conferred ‘Kalasevarathna’ award on the occasion, he said.
