Mumtaz Begum (86), wife of retired Dy.SP late Abdul Karim, mother of late Sub-Inspector Shakeel Ahmed, who was killed by forest brigand Veerappan in 1992 and a resident of Yadavagiri, passed away on May 1 due to age related illness.

She leaves behind three sons, seven daughters and a host of relatives. Namaz-e-Janaza was held on May 1 after Asar prayers followed by the burial the Muslim Burial Grounds in city.
