B.S. Sannaiah (84), retired Deputy Director of Kuvempu Institute of Kannada Studies, passed away in city following age related ailments.

He has authored about 95 books including Devachandrana Rajavali, Kathasara and Nagavarmana Vardhamana Purana among others. He was also the recipient of Kannada Sahitya Academy honorary award, Chaundaraya Award and Gomateshwara Vidyapeetah Award among other awards.
