Mysore/Mysuru: A total of 20 domestic helps and Pourakarmikas were each distributed Rs. 1 lakh Health Insurance Policy under ‘Corona Kavacha’ (Corona Cover) scheme at a programme organised by Belaku Charitable Trust in front of Jana Seva Kendra on Ramanuja Road here recently.

Speaking on the occasion, Trust President K.M. Nishant said that domestic helps earn a petty sum of money toiling hard the entire day, while Pourakarmikas are engaged in cleaning up the city of wastes and garbage. 

Stressing on the need for providing them a health cover during this critical period as they are more exposed to health hazards, he said that the Trust has now covered 20 of them with Rs. 1 lakh health insurance. 

Nishant appealed philanthropists, donors, people’s representatives and other well-to-do members of the public to help the poor and vulnerable sections of the society in this hour of crisis.

BJP leaders K.P. Madhusudhan, M.N. Dhanush, Deepak, Praveen, Amruthesh, Mohan, Chetan, Sudarshan and others were present.
