Man kills ex-wife: Slits her throat, escapes

June 13, 2017

Mysuru: What should have been a new beginning turned out to be a tragic end for Sunitha, despite she getting a divorce from her husband. The 29-year-old mother of an eight-year-old boy was allegedly killed by her ex-husband by slitting her throat here this morning.

Sunitha, a resident of D-Block, I Stage, 18th Main Road, JP Nagar, was allegedly murdered by her ex-husband after a wordy duel between the two turned violent.

Karthik, the accused, slit her throat with a knife and escaped from the spot. Police said that the couple had been granted divorce only a month back and were yet to receive the order copy from the Court.

The Police added that Sunitha and Karthik, both natives of Bhadravati in Shivamogga district, had entered into wedlock around 9-years-ago and the couple had a son. The duo had shifted to Mysuru as Karthik was employed with a private firm.  This morning, Karthik visited Sunitha’s house after which the couple dropped their son to school and returned home when they picked up a quarrel over  an issue.

The neighbours are said to have informed the Police about them hearing Sunitha’s screams from the house.

The Police said that they had found pieces of glass bangles scattered in the hall proving that Sunitha had tried to resist the attack from her ex-husband.

Even their son informed the Police that it was his parents who had dropped him to school in the morning.
