K.R. Pet: Mumbai Police have arrested the bodyguard of Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut on charges of alleged rape. 

He was arrested with the help of Kikkeri Police near K.R. Pet of Mandya district. The accused is Kumar Hegde of Heggadahalli in K.R. Pet taluk. Kumar is accused of raping a Mumbai woman on the pretext of marrying her.

It is alleged that Kumar had got acquainted with the aggrieved lady eight years back and proposed to marry her in June for which she had given her nod but later forcibly exploited her sexually. 

Based on the complaint by the victim, the Police had registered case against Kumar under IPC Section 376 pertaining to rape and Section 420 (cheating).

Based on the said complaint, the Mumbai Police were scouting for Kumar and after they gathered information that he was in Heggadahalli, they arrived there and took him into custody. 

He was produced before a Court at K.R. Pet before taking him to Mumbai.
