Holds postcard protest
Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru City (District) Congress Publicity Committee held a postcard protest here yesterday urging the State Government to set up a separate hospital for children in the wake of reports of third wave of COVID pandemic and waive two months electricity bill of domestic consumers.
This protest was held inside the premises of CADA office. The children, Tanmayi, Yashaswi and Hrithwik put the postcards addressed to CM B.S. Yediyurappa inside the post box.
The agitators wanted the CM to start the Children’s Hospitals in all districts and to vaccinate the kids. They also urged the Government to waive two months power bill of domestic consumers due to lockdown.
The Congress leaders said that the life of citizens has become worst due to sharp rise in the prices of fuel and the edible oils. More than COVID pandemic, the Government taxes were haunting people. In 2012, the then Congress-led UPA Government administered the Polio vaccine free to all kids without any registration, publicity or rush. The State and the Union Governments must take steps to vaccinate the kids against COVID at the earliest, they added.
In-Charge Mayor Anwar Baig, Publicity Committee Chairman M.K. Ashok, Committee Members Chowhalli Puttaswamy, Lokanath Gowda, P. Kumar Gowda, Sanjay Gowda were present.
