Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Chemistry, JSS Science & Technology University (JSS STU), Mysuru,  is organising a two-day Virtual International Conference on Advanced Materials from tomorrow (July 6 and 7).

 Advanced Materials play a vital role in our lives due to their importance in Agriculture, energy and hygiene of environment. Advanced Materials are at the heart of many technological developments that touch our lives and find applications such as electronic materials for communication and information technology, biomaterials for better health care, sensors for intelligent environment, energy materials for renewable energy and light alloys for better transportation, materials for biotechnological applications etc. 

This conference is organised to bring together all those who are involved in research and development of advanced materials for agriculture, energy and environment. It will provide a platform for all the young and active scientists / engineers and UG/ PG students to present their work and create conductive environment to encourage scientific interaction about the latest researches in this field.

Over 30 researchers from different parts of the country and outside the country will be presenting their research work. A total of about 200 participants have already  registered. 

The event will be inaugurated by chief guest Dr. B. Suresh, Pro-Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, President, Pharmacy Council of India, at 9.30 am tomorrow. Dr. S.A. Dhanaraj, Registrar, JSS STU, will preside. Dr. H.R. Mahadev Swamy, Joint Director, TED, JSS MVP and Dr. S.B. Kivade, Principal, SJCE, JSS STU, will be the guests of honour. Prof. P. Mallu, Convenor, Dean Science, Head, Department of Chemistry, SJCE, JSS S&TU, will be present.

Jothi Ramalingam, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Surfactant Research Chair, King Saud University, Saudi Arabia.
