Heritage Walk by Postal Trainees

B.R. Poornima, Commissioner, Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage, Mysuru, flagging off Heritage Walk for trainees of Postal Training Centre (PTC) at Town Hall this morning. A total of 130 trainees took part in the Walk which was organised by the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage as part of World Heritage Week (2021-22). Heritage Expert Prof. N.S. Rangaraju and Karnataka State Open University’s (KSOU) Department of Studies in Ancient History and Archaeology Dr. Shalvapillai Iyengar explained about the heritage buildings throughout the walk which was also attended by Department Deputy Director (Heritage) Nirmala Mathapati and Archaeology Conservation Engineer (Heritage) C.T. Mahesh. The participants walked through Silver Jubilee Clock Tower, Chamaraja Wadiyar Circle, Chikkagadiyara (Dufferin Clock Tower), Devaraja Market, K.R. Hospital, Chamaraja Technical Institute (Cauvery Emporium) and culminated near Government Ayurveda College and Hospital.
