Mysore/Mysuru: A two-wheeler rider, who was hit by a truck, has died of injuries at a hospital in city on Tuesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Shankaregowda (55), a resident of Judicial Layout in Kanakadasanagar, who was working as a security guard at a private firm.
On Tuesday at about 7.45 pm, Shankaregowda was proceeding on his TVS Jupiter scooter on the Ring Road near Kanakadasanagar, when a speeding truck rammed into the scooter resulting in Shankaregowda sustaining severe injuries and profusely bleeding. Public rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where he was provided first-aid and was later shifted to another private hospital, where Shankaregowda succumbed to injuries at about 10.15 pm.
K.R. Traffic Police Inspector Manjunath, who registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, where post-mortem was conducted and the body was handed over to the family members.
Accident Zone: After the development of the Ring Road near Dattagalli, there is an increase in accidents. The road humps on cross roads have been removed and there are very narrow turnings with haphazard movement of vehicles. Also, many buildings have come up near the Ring Road. All these factors are leading to frequent accidents in this zone.
With the road being asphalted, vehicles are now moving in neck-breaking speed and hence, the Ring Road between R.T. Nagar has been identified as Accident Zone (Black Spot).
