26th All India Children’s Educational Audio Video Film Festival-2022

Mysurean wins ‘Best Program Awards’

Mysore/Mysuru: Two documentary films, directed by K. Gopinath, EMRC, University of Mysore, Mysuru — ‘The Sound Mind’ and ‘The Black Gold’ — has secured ‘Best Program Awards’ at the 26th All India Children’s Educational Audio Video Film Festival-2022, organised by CIET-NCERT, New Delhi.

‘The Sound Mind’ won the award in the middle level category. Duration of the film is 30 minutes and language of the film is English. The documentary’s subject is chess education for every one and the benefits of playing the chess. Especially how the brain works in the visually impaired people while playing the chess. The subject experts of the documentary are International chess player and coaches N. Madhuri and Manjunath Jain from Mandya Chess Academy.

The Black Gold’ which won the ‘Best Program Awards.’

‘The Black Gold’ won the award in the preparatory level category. Duration of the film is 10 minutes and language of the film is English. The documentary film is on making of aerobic composting of kitchen waste in every household that is converted into the organic manure for the home garden. The subject expert of the documentary is Shyamasundara Subbarao, NIE CREST (Renewable Energy), Mysuru.

Narration is by M.B. Shivashankar and graphics by Chandra Kumar for ‘The Sound Mind’ and narration is by Dr. Asha Rani for ‘The Black Gold.’  The editing, script, produced and directed by K. Gopinath, camera by G. Dhanush Yadav, Camera Assistance by G. Vikas Yadav and Sound Engineer is Manu Rao for both.

The festival had received 750 programmes in various categories and the award includes cash prize, mementos and certificates.

Prof. H. Rajashekar, Director of EMRC, UoM, Prof. R.L. Jagadish, Dept. of Polymer science, UoM and Dr. R.S. Umakanth, Dept. of Sericulture Science, UoM, have supported in making these documentary films.

K.Gopinath, working in EMRC, UoM, as Technician since from 2010, has participated and bagged several awards in the National and International Documentary Film Festivals.
