The State’s ambitious ‘Yeshasvini’ health scheme, which was dropped following the introduction of Ayushman Arogya Karnataka scheme, will be re-launched in the State on Oct. 2.
The Yeshasvini scheme was first launched by S.M. Krishna-led Congress Government over 20 years ago under the Co-operation Department, with an objective of providing cashless medical treatment for the poor and farmers. But as years passed by and with change of Governments, the scheme was merged with Ayushman Arogya Karnataka scheme a few years ago.
Now, the Yeshasvini health scheme is being re-launched by the Co-operation Department from Oct. 2, marking Gandhi Jayanthi.
