Dr. L. Shivalingaiah, retired  Engineer-in-Chief and also a former  PWD Special Secretary , passed away in Bengaluru on Saturday. He was 92.

Dr. Shivalingaiah was the founder of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Group of Educational Institutions in Bengaluru which runs Dr. Ambedkar Medical College, Ambedkar Institute of Technology and a host of other colleges and organisations.

Last rites were performed at his farm in Rajarajeshwarinagar in Bengaluru this evening, according to family sources.
