Of late it has become a trend to celebrate birthdays and other events by bursting crackers during middle of the night in peaceful suburbs of Mysuru.

This is a big nuisance and needs to be dealt with a stern hand by the authorities concerned.

Bursting crackers at an unearthly hour causes lot of inconvenience to senior citizens, kids, pets and street dogs who become agitated and lose their sleep for the rest of the night.

Even during Deepavali, there is a time limit for bursting crackers but the same doesn’t seem to apply for rest of the days.

Recently, Police cracked down on vehicles with modified silencers which make lot of noise. Similarly, there should be a conscious effort to ensure that nobody bursts crackers in the middle of the night. Hope the concerned will look into this matter on priority.
