MCC warns pig-rearers

August 16, 2022

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner G. Lakshmikantha Reddy, in a press release, has warned pig-rearers to not allow their pigs to roam around on streets and main roads as it is disrupting the movement of vehicles and general public. Pigs wander on streets leading to traffic jams and also many riders have met with accidents while avoiding hitting the pigs. Pigs to feed themselves are scattering wastes dumped in the scrap bins on roads and are ruining the hygiene environment. Even after holding meetings with the pig-rearers and instructing them to avoid such a situation, they have not done the needful.

This will be the last warning for all the pig-rearers to keep their pigs under shelter and avoid it roaming around. If the owners of the pigs fail to follow the order within a week, the MCC will take strict and necessary actions against the owners and will shift the pigs without bringing it to the notice of owners.
