ADGP Bhaskar Rao leads 50 KSRP men on Cycle Jatha

Jatha to reach Mysuru on July 24

Mysuru: KSRP ADGP Bhaskar Rao, leading a team of 50 cyclists, has begun a Statewide cycle jatha from Bidar to carry the message of ban on plastics, open defecation free and environment protection, since yesterday.

The jatha, KSRP Karnataka Darshan, aims to create  an awareness among the  Police staff and public to develop interest in sports by participating in it so that the body and mind becomes stronger. Apart from this, awareness will also be created on environment protection, plastic ban, ill-effects   of defecating in the open and how to maintain cleanliness, said Rao.

Bidar District in-charge Minister Eshwar Khandre flagged of the cycle jatha from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Circle in Bidar yesterday. Deputy Commissioner H.R. Mahadev, SP Prakash Sikkam and KSRP Commandant Basavaraju Jille were present on the occasion.

The jatha passed through Humnabad and Kamalapura yesterday and reached Kalaburagi where they stayed for the night at the KSRP Unit Office. Today, they will ride through Jeevargi, Sindagi, reach Bijapur, and stay for the night. Then they will travel through Belagavi, Gadag, Munirabad, Siggaon, Shivamogga, Hebri, Udupi, Mangaluru, Kalladka, Bantwal, Hassan and will reach Mysuru on July 24  and stay overnight at KSRP Unit Office.

On July 25, the team will leave Mysuru and reach Bengaluru, where the jatha will end. The cyclists will cover a total distance of 1,750 kms. The cycles  have been imported from Indonesia, Bhaskar Rao told Star of Mysore.
