Online fraud: Woman loses Rs. 1.22 lakh

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have cheated a woman of Rs. 1.22 lakh on the pretext of collecting taxes for the gift.

The woman, who was cheated is 38-year-old Mangalagowri, a resident of Raghavendranagar in city.

Mangalagowri received a message, which said that she had received Rs. 10 lakh gift. When she contacted the phone number from which the message was sent, the caller told her that she has to pay taxes to receive the gift and got Rs. 1,22,100 transferred from her account, thus cheating her.

A case has been registered at city’s CEN Police Station.
