Mysuru: Pahilwan Basavaiah Kusthi Samiti will be conducting National-Level Traditional Wrestling Competition at Kannegowda Stadium at K.G. Koppal in city tomorrow.
Addressing press persons at Pathrakartara Bhavan this morning, Samiti President N. Doreswamy said that around 35 pair of traditional wrestlers from all over the country will take part in the competition. The competition will be inaugurated by K.G. Koppal’s veteran wrestler Pahilwan Shambaiah.
Adichunchanagiri Mutt-Mysuru Branch Head Sri Somanatha Swamiji, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, MLAs Vasu, M.K. Somashekar, G.T. Devegowda, Sa.Ra. Mahesh and others will be present.
One of the major wrestling bouts to watch will be the bout between Pahilwan Teju Veer Punia (brother-in-law of Sakshi Mallik) and Pahilwan Sunil Chotiyala. The other wrestling bouts to watch will be Karthik Kate (KAR) Vs Pahilwan Sandeep Sharma (Pune) and Dig Vijay Singh (UP) Vs Santosh Bharod (MAH).
The traditional wrestling competition is being organised as part of Goddess Chamudeshwari Festival.
