Mysore/Mysuru: The third State-level Conference of the Academy of Family Physicians of India  (AFPI) will take place at Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji Centenary Hall in JSS Hospital premises here on Dec.10 and 11.

Announcing  this at a press meet here on Thursday, Conference Organising Committee President Dr. Ravikumar Kulkarni said that Family Physicians play an important role in the health and well-being of families. The Academy is an association of such Physicians, he said adding that the two-day conference will discuss the latest development in the field of  family medicine.

Medical students and Para-Medical students too can enroll for this conference, he said.

BMC&RI (Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute) Dean and Director Dr. K. Ravi will inaugurate the conference at 12 noon tomorrow. JSS Medical College Principal Dr. H. Basavanagoudappa, MMC&RI Dean and Director Dr. K.R. Dakshayini, AFPI National President Dr. Ramankumar and President-Elect Col. Dr. Mohan Kubendra will be the chief guests.

The conference features lecture sessions and seminar on latest developments in family medicine at 12 noon on Dec.11.

He further said that the conference will urge the Government to appoint one Family Physician at all Community Health Centres across the State.
