Budding Chess Champions of Mysuru, Dhatri Umesh and Diya Umesh bagged the first runner-up and second runner-up in their respective categories in Inter-School Chess Championship held in Bengaluru.

Students from all schools across the State participated in the Tournament that was organised by National Public School, HSR Layout, Bengaluru.

Dhatri Umesh played extremely well and scored 6 points out of 7 rounds. She drew 5th round and moved on top of the list in U-16 category. Dhatri Umesh has brought many laurels at State and National Chess Championships.

Diya Umesh got 6.5 points and ended in 2nd runner-up in U-11 category.

Both Dhatri and Diya are the daughters of Brunda and Umesh, residents of T.K. Layout, Mysuru.

Dhatri and Diya, students of National Public School, Mysuru, are trained under the guidance of Aravind Shastri of KSCA and Suresh of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC).
