Man held for killing wife, sister-in-law 8 years ago

February 22, 2017

Acting on a tip off, sleuths attached to Udayagiri Police Station and CCB, yesterday arrested a man from his relative’s house in D.G. Halli in Bengaluru for killing his wife and sister-in-law with a sharp instrument used by carpenters in Mysuru on May 8, 2009.

While the nabbed has been identified as Ishaq Pasha, resident of Beedi Colony in Azeez Sait Nagar in Udayagiri Police limits and a carpenter by profession, the deceased have been identified as Pasha’s wife Surayya Banu and her sister Siddiqui Banu.

It may be recalled that Surayya and Siddqui Banu, who were admitted to K.R. Hospital on the day of the crime, had succumbed to injuries four days later and the Police, who launched a futile search for Ishaq Pasha for couple of years, had closed the case.

It is learnt that Ishaq, suspecting fidelity of Surayya, had attacked her with a sharp instrument used in carpentry and had also attacked Siddiqui Banu who came to the rescue of her sister.

During interrogation, Ishaq is said to have told Police that fearing arrest, he had fled to Rajasthan. Ishaq, who was subjected to medical examination at K.R. Hospital after being brought to the city from Bengaluru was produced before a city Court which remanded him to judicial custody.

Udayagiri Inspector P.P. Santhosh supervised Gopalagowda, Allah Baksh, Shivakumar, Shankar, Babu, Beerappa, Babu Lokanath, Venkatesh Gowda and Jayakeerthi of the CCB in the nabbing operation.
