Huliyamma Jathra: Sale of liquor banned

Mysuru Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. K.V. Rajendra has banned the sale, supply and transportation of liquor at Kyathamaranahalli and surrounding areas from 12 am on Feb. 28 till the midnight of Mar. 8 to prevent untoward incidents during Sri Huliyamma Jathra at Kyathamaranahalli. The DC has also ordered closure of all types of liquor shops, clubs, hotels, boarding and lodging facilities, canteens, bar and restaurants, in the vicinity and has declared ‘Anti-Liquor Day’ during the Jathra days.
