Over 5,000 youths attend Mega Job Mela in city

Mysuru: More than 5,000 youths, including specially-abled from Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, T. Narasipur, Kollegal, K.R. Nagar, Ramanagar and surrounding places thronged J.K. Grounds in city this morning, where a Mega Job Mela and a Blood Donation Camp was organised by Harish Gowda Sneha Balaga to mark City JD(S) President Harish Gowda’s 48th birthday today.

About 100 companies like Infosys, ThoughtFocus, HGS Global Solutions, Sysinformation, Transcom Pvt. Ltd., Wipro, Eagle Technologies, AIMS, Eureka Forbes, L&T, TVS, IFBI, Cafe Coffee Day, Kotak Mahindra, HDFC, SBI Life, LIC and other companies are participating in the Mela to recruit candidates with qualifications from SSLC to Post-Graduation.

Candidates were seen registering their names and submitting their resumes at specially opened counters at the venue.

The Job Fair was inaugurated by Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Andolana Editor Rajashekar Koti, MLAs G.T. Devegowda and S.R. Mahesh, ZP President Nayeema Sulthana and former MP A.H. Vishwanath. Sir Khazi of Mysuru Moulana Mohammed Usman Shariff graced the occasion.

About 100 stalls have been erected in J.K. Grounds premises for the participating companies and more than 100 volunteers were seen guiding the candidates to the respective stalls.

A cake weighing 48-kg was cut by Harish Gowda, while his followers presented him with a silver mace.

Earlier, the fans and followers of Harish Gowda took out bike rallies from various parts of the city to J.K. Grounds.

Corporators Channappa, K.V. Mallesh, SBM Manju and Cheluvegowda, ZP members Beerihundi Basavanna and Madegowda, G.D. Harish Gowda and others were present.
