Tongawallah thrashed by women

Mysore/Mysuru: A group of women, caught a tongawallah and beat him black and blue for ramming his tonga into a woman at K.R. Circle yesterday and trying to flee from the spot. The woman, identified as Nirmala of Baburayanakoppal in Srirangapatna taluk, who had come to city on some work, was crossing the road towards City Bus Stand when the tonga which came from Garuda Mall side hit her.

Nirmala, who fell on the road, sustained injuries near her eyes and on the forehead. But the tongawallah, identified as Santosh of Tilaknagar, did not stop the tonga and tried to flee from the spot which enraged a few women. The women then caught hold of Santosh and beat him black and blue for not bothering to enquire about the lady he had hit with his tonga.  

Soon, Devaraja Traffic Police personnel, who came to the spot, intervened and sent the injured Nirmala to a hospital and instructed the tonga owner to get Nirmala treated for her injuries.
