Mysore/Mysuru: A man has been brutally murdered by his sister’s lover for trying to stop their affair. The accused with the help of his two relatives committed the crime on Basavanahalli Road in Vijayanagar 4th Stage here yesterday evening and all the three are absconding.

The deceased has been identified as Hemanth alias Swamy (23), a resident of Belawadi village in the taluk. The accused is Sagar of the same village. He committed the crime with the help of his relatives Pratap and Manju.

Details: Deceased Swamy and the accused reside on the same street in Belawadi and are said to be relatives. They are all painters by profession.

Swamy’s sister is pursuing her Engineering course at a private college near Kadakola. She and the prime accused were in love with each other and were ready to get married, it is learnt.

A few days back, Swamy and his family members, who learnt about the affair, called a Panchayat in the village comprising village elders where they said that they cannot give their family girl in marriage to Sagar, as he was a painter and the girl would be an engineer after her studies. They then warned Sagar not to keep in touch with their family girl.

But Sagar is said to have kept in touch with Swamy’s sister and yesterday morning, Sagar went near the college where Swamy’s sister was studying and was talking to her. Swamy, who came to know about it, rushed near the college, brought her sister home and warned her against meeting Sagar, it is learnt.
