Applications invited from senior citizens for State Award

The Department for Welfare of the Disabled and Senior Citizens has invited applications from senior citizens, who have excelled in different fields, for State-level award to be given as part of World Senior Citizens Day on Oct.1.

Senior citizens, who have excelled in fields such as Education, Literature, Arts, Law, Sports, Social Service etc., and Institutes which are engaged in the service of senior citizens, can apply. There are seven awards in total — Six for individuals and one for Institution. The last date for applying along with supporting documents is Aug.15.  For details, visit the Department Office located on Pulakeshi road in Tilaknagar (Ph: 0821- 2490333) or log on to the website www.dwdsc.karnataka.gov.in, according to a press release.
