Mysore/Mysuru: A miscreant, who entered a jewellery store on Ashoka Road on the pretext of purchasing gold jewellery, has allegedly fled with two gold chains from the store.
The incident took place at Srihari Jewellers on Ashoka Road at about 7.40 pm on Aug. 7.
The miscreant, after entering the jewellery store at about 7.15 pm, showed a few photos of gold chains and finger rings on his phone to the staff and asked them to show jewellery of similar designs. Store owner Anilkumar Jain and his staff Ramesh showed the miscreant a couple of gold chains and finger rings.
The miscreant, who asked the price of the chain and finger ring he had selected, told Jain and Ramesh that he would get the cash and left the store. He (miscreant) came back at about 7.40 pm, when Jain was present at the store and told him to show the same gold chains. When Jain brought a tray containing gold chains, the miscreant selected two gold chains weighing 40 grams, held it in his hand and told Jain to show him the finger rings.
When Jain turned to get the finger rings tray, he (Jain) got a call on his mobile phone and when Jain was answering the call, the miscreant fled along with the gold chains.
A case has been registered at Lashkar Police Station.
