Mysore/Mysuru: Senior artiste Vidu. Lavanya Rupakala is presenting a Karnatak Vocal Concert at Sri Mysore Vasudevacharya’s house in Agrahara on Oct. 1 at 10.30 am.
She will be accompanied by Vid. Vibhudendra Simha on violin, Vid. M.R. Manjunath on mridanga and Vid. B.A. Ravikiran on morching.
Now a much sought after music teacher, Vidu. Lavanya has been trained by Vid. I.V.L Sastri and Vidu. Mutnuri Jalajakshi from Visakhapatnam and by the renowned teacher Vidu. Neela Ramgopal in Bengaluru. A B.Tech graduate, Lavanya is also an MA in Karnatak Music from SPMVV University, Tirupati.
Presently settled in Bengaluru, she trains students at different levels and is actively involved in promoting music.
Vibhudendra Simha, currently getting trained by Vid. T.S. Krishnamurthy, is a Graded Violinist of AIR and Doordarshan. He has accompanied and performed with senior musicians and dancers across various places in India and in the U.S.
Vid. M.R. Manjunath is a senior percussionist, with a stage experience spanning over four decades.
Vid. Ravikiran, student of Vid. Ramanujam and Jayachandra Rao, has been trained in morching by Vid. V.S. Ramesh. He has performed across the State, accompanying several senior artistes.
