Narayana Hospital conducts walkathon to create awareness on heart disease

Mysore/Mysuru: Narayana Health (formerly Narayana Multispecialty Hospital), as part of World Heart Day had organised a walkathon to create awareness about heart disease in city recently.

The event was flagged off by City Police Commissioner Ramesh Banoth. More than 500 people took part in the 5-km walkathon, which started at Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple and culminated at the same point after covering a distance of 5 km in which renowned heart specialists and healthcare workers of Narayana Health also participated.

The City Top Cop said, “Heart disease is a serious health problem that can affect people of all ages. It is important to be aware of the risk factors for heart disease and to take steps to prevent it. Walkathon is a great way to raise awareness about heart disease and to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle.”

Clinical Director of Narayana Health, Dr. M.N. Ravi, said, “Heart disease is a preventable disease. By making simple changes to our lifestyle, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and quitting smoking, we can significantly reduce our risk of developing heart disease.”

Dr. V. Keshavamurthy, Senior Cardiologist, said “Heart disease is preventable by making simple changes to our lifestyle, such as eating a healthy diet, exercising regularly and quitting smoking. It is also important to get regular check-ups done from a doctor to detect any early signs of heart disease.”
