Mysore/Mysuru: Two youths were reportedly drowned in Varuna Canal on KRS-Mysuru Main Road near Mogarahalli on Friday evening.

The deceased are Nandan (26) and Kiran (26), residents of MCC Colony in K.G. Koppal here.

On Friday evening, Nandan and Kiran, along with their friends Lakshman and Revanna, who were contract employees at MCC, went to Varuna Canal for a swim, during which Nandan and Kiran went missing in the waters.

A missing complaint was lodged at KRS Police Station and on request from the Police, release of water to Varuna Canal was reduced to facilitate the search operation. Both the bodies were found at the same spot near Shadanahalli village.
