Guest Lecturers stir enters fifth day

December 6, 2023

Mysoe/Mysuru: The indefinite stir launched by Guest Lecturers serving in Degree Colleges seeking fulfilment of their various demands, which chiefly included regularisation of service, entered the fifth day today.

The Guest Lecturers are on protest in front of the Office of the Joint Director of Collegiate Education here since Saturday last.

“There are over 12,000 Guest Lecturers serving in Degree Colleges coming under the Department of Collegiate Education in the State. But despite service for long, the Government is yet to regularise our service. We have been working without any job security for years,” they said and urged the Government to consider their demands seriously and thus come to their aid, with many of them on the fringe of retirement.

Guest Lecturers Association President G.V. Ramesh, Office-bearers Kempananjappa, Dr. Venkatesh, M.V. Vinayak, Nagarjuna and others took part in the stir.
