Mysore/Mysuru: Bhushans’ Academy of Performing Arts and Visual Presentation, Mysuru, headed by internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste Guru Badari Divya Bhushan, has come up with Poshaka Bhushana International Dance Festival series in association with Kaveri Natya Yoga, USA, headed by acclaimed Bharatanatyam artiste, Guru Dr. Sreedhara Akkihebbalu, San Antonio. This fest will be held on Dec. 22 at 5.45 pm at RamaGovinda Rangamandira in Ramakrishnanagar.
Sophia Salingaros, a senior disciple, will present a margam followed by ‘Shataka Traya: An Enchanting Bharatanatyam Symphony Unveiling the Triad of Life — Sringara, Neeti, Vairagya.’
It is a poetic exploration of the human experience, to resonate with the rich philosophy of Sanskrit scholar Bhartruhari.
Bhartruhari, a 5th century philosopher and poet-grammarian, was of noble birth and struggled between material and spiritual. As he ultimately conquered his material and sensual living, authored Shataka Traya — Sringara (love), Neeti (ethics and polity) and Vairagya (dispassion).
The dance show about musings on Loving, Living, Leaving and Liberating is conceptualised and choreographed by Guru Dr. Sreedhara Akkihebbalu of Kaveri Natya Yoga, Texas, USA.
The dance will be performed by his senior disciples, Anuradha Ramachandra, Anusuya Poonja, Divya Warrior and Shreelakshmi Nagaraj.
