Mysuru: A 25-year-old home-maker, suspecting that her husband was having an illicit relationship with another woman, committed suicide by hanging self at her residence in T.K. Layout here yesterday night.

The deceased has been identified as Lekhana, wife of Basavaraju, a realtor and a resident of T.K. Layout in city.

Lekhana, who suspected that her husband was having an affair with a woman from K.C. Layout here, after observing the behaviour of her husband and going through the messages in his phone, had lodged a complaint against the lady at Nazarbad Police Station. The other lady too had lodged a counter complaint against Lekhana at Nazarbad Police Station.

Yesterday, the Nazarbad Police, who summoned all the three to the Police Station, counselled them. The lady had rejected all the allegations made by home-maker Lekhana. After the counselling session, the cops told them to lead a happy life and sent them home.

But yesterday night, Lekhana took the extreme step.

Saraswathipuram Police Station  Inspector Nagegowda and staff, who rushed to the house this morning, conducted mahazar and shifted the body of Lekhana to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem.

Saraswathipuram Police, who have registered a case in this  regard, are investigating.
