Arvind Panagariya is 16th Finance Commission Chairman

New Delhi: The Central Government on Sunday named former NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman  (2015 to 2017) Arvind Panagariya as the Chairman of 16th Finance Commission.

Joint Secretary of Union Finance Ministry Rutwik Ranjan Pandey has been appointed as the Secretary of Finance Commission.

The Finance Commission is expected to submit its forecast report for 5 years (2026 to 2031) to the President of India by Oct. 31, 2025.
