Mysore/Mysuru: Nrutyalaya President Vidushi Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra said that artistes should not give up until achieving success in their profession.
She was speaking after inaugurating ‘Natya Margam’ by talented dancers from USA, jointly organised by Vasundhara Performing Arts Centre (VPAC), Mysuru and Natyanjali, USA at Ganabharathi here on Sunday.
Pointing out that practicing what we learnt from our Gurus is more important, Dr. Tulasi Ramachandra observed that an artiste’s success depends on practice, dedication and determination.
Noting that success does not come easily and quickly to all artistes, she said that it is important that we must not give up until we achieve our set goal. Likewise, we should not feel that we have achieved everything, she said calling upon the budding artistes to continue contributing to the field of art and music.
Nupura Kalavidaru Samskrutika Trust President Prof. K. Ramamurthy Rao, in his address, said “we feel joyous and entertained by witnessing artistic performances.” Pointing out that arts and music help us in maintaining health, he said that renowned Danseuse Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy has given many performances in the country and abroad, enthralling the audience.
USA Austin-San Antonio,Texas-based Natyanjali Director Vidushi Bana Shastri Ramanath and Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy too spoke on the occasion.
Vidushi Bana Shastri Ramanath’s disciples Anupriya Jose, Shruti Subramanian and Tapasvini Paralkar presented an entertaining Bharatanatyam performance, with Vidushi Dr. P. Rama providing vocal accompaniment, supported by Vid. Janardhan on mridanga and Vid. Jayram on flute.
