Dr. G.S. Subramanyam (85), a retired Professor of NIE, Mysuru and Founding Principal of NIE Science College in city, passed away here yesterday following brief illness.

A resident of  8th main, Saraswathipuram, he leaves behind his wife, three sons, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were performed at the foot of Chamundi Hill this noon.
