The 12th World Conference of USA-based AKKA (Association of Kannada Kootas of America) will be held at Richmond City of the USA from Aug. 30 to Sept. 1.Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, AKKA President Ravi Boregowda, who is also the SammelanaSamiti President, said that the World AKKA Conference usually takes place once in 2 years. But due to COVID, the Conference could not be held for the past 4 years. But now the Conference, which is a gathering of Kannadigas from all over America, will take place at Richmond City, about 120 miles from Washington DC.

About 5,000 Kannadigas from across the world are expected to take part in the 3-day event, he said adding that the event will feature a lot of cultural, literary and other programmes aimed at promoting the spirit of Kannada.SammelanaSamiti office-bearers Dr.Vishwamitra, Mahadesh, Basavaraju,Dr. Naveen Krishna and Vatsa were present at the press meet.
