Mysore/Mysuru: “Home Guards have been working as a backbone of Police Department,” said Additional SP Dr. B.N. Nandini, here yesterday.
Speaking at the valedictory of training programme organised for the Home Guards at DAR Convention Hall in Jyothinagar, she hailed the services of Home Guards, Fire and Civil Defence personnel.
“Both Police and Home Guards wear khaki. Irrespective of the department, safeguarding the department and individual pride is most important along with imbibing qualities of discipline and dedication. After donning khaki, it is important to maintain discipline as people will be observing our behaviour. A small mistake could prove costly in the era of social media,” she said.
Later, certificates were distributed to candidates selected as Home Guards. A total of 147 candidates have been selected as Home Guards in the first batch. The department also welcomed second batch of 142 candidates for the training.
