Mysore/Mysuru: Bank of India, Udayagiri branch Manager S. Muralidhar has said that women can make use of  various schemes implemented by State and Central Governments and become self-employed.

He was speaking after inaugurating a function organise to commemorate the International Women’s Day, organised by Federation of Ashraya Pragati Sangha comprising of    65 women organisations at Safa Function Hall, Udayagiri in the city, recently.

“If women approach Banks for loans to become self-employed under various schemes of the Government, they will  easily get them,” said Manager S. Muralidhar.

Director of Federation Indian Women Entrepreneurs (FIWE) Divyaraj Kamaiah, who participated as the chief guest said that the Association is assisting interested women right from the stage of submitting applications to providing them training to make them self-employed.” Last year, more than 200 men and women  and unemployed youth were given training in fishing, packaging of food products and others and empowered them financially,” added Divyaraj Kamaiah.

At the function, certificates were given to Jayanti, Bhavani, Nagaveni, Chandana and Rashmi for successfully completing the free training from Khadi Grameena Udyog. Similarly, 20 persons who are undergoing training were given equipment and tool kits at the function. Women civic workers were warmly felicitated as part of the International Women’s Day at the function.

Federation President Chandramma, Ganga Charitable Trust President Raj Kamaiah, Mysuru District  Kannada Rajyotsava awardee Vidyasagara Kadamaba, Social worker Premkumari  Vidyasagara, former Endowment Trustee of Chamundeshwari  Hill, Chamundi Temple, Savita Phadkar and others were present at the function.
