‘Women should get a quality life’

April 1, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Noted Humourist Prof. M. Krishnegowda said that women should get equal opportunities in all fields, including politics. Only then shall women empowerment get true meaning, he said.

He was speaking at the ‘Women’s Day’ celebration organised jointly by City Unit of Akhila Bharata Sharana Sahitya Parishat and Kadali Mahila Vedike at Rajendra Bhavan in JSS hospital premises here recently.

Pointing out that Governments should give more prominence to women development, Prof. Krishnegowda said women have the capacity to do several things at a time. Giving women good training and opportunities will help a lot in women centric development, he observed.

DCRE SP Dr. B.T. Kavitha in her address, said that it is important that women get quality life. Observing that all women members in a family becoming self-reliant is the real woman empowerment, she said that the clothes and jewellery we wear and having a own house does not essentially mean quality life.

A good understanding and affectionate bonding between wife and husband which lead to a happy and contentful life is the real quality life, she noted. Women should make the future generations too understand this concept of life, she added.

Continuing, Kavitha said that the time has come to wonder to what extent women empowerment has been done in the country.

“Women have become Prime Minister and Chief Ministers in the country. They have also made a mark for themselves in all spheres and sectors,” she said.

Stressing that women should not spend money recklessly, she said that a family where discretion is used in spending money is certainly going to develop further.
