Nivedithanagar Park lacks several basic amenities

June 2, 2024

Sir,

Nivedithanagar Park is renowned as one of the best parks in Mysuru, boasting lush greenery and natural beauty, thanks to the dedicated gardener who takes utmost care.

A large number of visitors, including both seniors and young individuals, frequent the park to enjoy leisurely walks and spend quality time.

However, the park lacks several basic amenities. The walking path is noticeably old and has an uneven surface, causing discomfort and knee pain, especially among elderly visitors. Additionally, the restroom facilities are unclean, discouraging people from using them.

Parking for four-wheelers becomes challenging, particularly on weekends and requires better regulation.

Installation of zebra crossings in front of the park is essential to ensure the safety of seniors, protecting them from fast-moving vehicles on both ends.

The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) should take proactive steps to maintain the park by renovating the walk paths and improving restroom facilities. Assigning someone to address user complaints, with their contact information prominently displayed, would enhance communication and accountability.

Furthermore, introducing a complaint register for visitors to record their grievances and track corrective actions is necessary. We hope that the Mysuru City Corporation will promptly address these issues and enhance the park’s facilities for the benefit of all visitors.
