He was on his way to a hotel to get breakfast for his daughter admitted at KR Hospital

Mysore/Mysuru: Miscreants have snatched money from a farmer who was on his way to a hotel on Sayyaji Rao Road to get food for his daughter, who is admitted at KR Hospital. The incident took place at about 8 am on Saturday.

The farmer, who lost his money is Kalaningappa, a resident of Ahalya village in Nanjangud taluk.

Kalaningappa, who had admitted his daughter to KR Hospital, was walking on Sayyaji Rao Road towards a hotel at about 8 am on Saturday and was counting money on the go.

While counting money, Kalaningappa observed two persons following him and before he could keep the cash (Rs. 5,000) inside his pocket, one of the miscreants snatched the cash and fled from the spot along with his accomplice. Though Kalaningappa shouted for help and began to chase the miscreants, they (miscreants) jumped over the road divider and disappeared.

Kalaningappa later went to Devaraja Police Station and lodged a complaint besides providing information about the looks of the miscreants. Devaraja Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.

It is said that there is a gang which targets innocent people coming to KR Hospital, which is still active. They confront villagers and make them believe in them and finally cheat the innocent villagers.

Meanwhile, the Police have advised people not to carry large cash alone, not to count cash in public and not to wear gold jewels and go walking alone as they could be easy targets to miscreants. Public have urged the City Police Chief to deploy Cops in mufti in crowded place to prevent such incidents from taking place in future.
