Bengaluru: The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) Court, yesterday remanded former JD(S) MP Prajwal Revanna, who is facing charges of rape and sexual abuse against several women, to Special Investigation Team (SIT) custody till June 18.
Prajwal was produced before the 42nd ACMM Court yesterday during which SIT officials urged the Court to hand over him to their custody following which the 42nd ACMM Court granted the SIT’s request. With this, the SIT secured the custody of Revanna till Tuesday (June 18).
SIT officials had arrested Revanna soon after he landed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport from Germany on May 31.
Prajwal Revanna was booked in three cases of sexual assault. There are also charges of rape against him.
The cases of sexual abuse came to light after pen-drives containing explicit videos, allegedly involving Prajwal Revanna, were reportedly circulated in Hassan, ahead of Lok Sabha polls there on Apr. 26. JD(S) has suspended him from the party after cases were filed against him.
