June 25, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Mysuru District BJP ST Morcha will lay siege to new Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) Office at Siddarthanagar in city on June 28, in protest against the allegations of large scale irregularities of State Congress Government at Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited.

This was announced after a preliminary meeting of the ST Morcha held at City BJP Office recently, by City BJP President L. Nagendra.

Nagendra said, crores of funds meant for the welfare of Scheduled Tribes has been misused, with the transfer of such a huge amount to the bank accounts of private parties. However, the scam came to light, with the suicide of capable officer of ST Corporation, P. Chandrashekaran, who was serving as Accounts Superintendent, he added.

Pamphlets will be distributed among the people to inform them about the scam, with BJP workers told to reach them to every household of Nayaka community. With this, the people should be made aware of anti-people policies of the State Government, said Nagendra.

BJP Mysuru District Rural Committee President L.R. Mahadevaswamy called for the success of the protest by involving large number of the party workers.

President of Mysuru District BJP ST Morcha Paduvarahalli M. Ramakrishna appealed, “Apart from the workers of ST Morcha, the workers of other Morchas also should take part in the protest.”

Former Mayor Shivakumar, leaders Vijayendra, Bangaru Hanumanth, Muddukrishna, M. Mahesh, Prashanth, Narayan and other leaders  attended the meeting.
