Sena Pade stages dharna demanding CBI probe into MUDA scam

July 7, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging Multi-crore scam in MUDA (Mysuru Urban Development Authority), members of Karnataka Sena Pade staged a demonstration near the old Deputy Commissioner’s office along Hunsur road here recently demanding a CBI probe into the scam.

Alleging that MUDA is under the control of land mafia, the protestors claimed that 90 percent of MUDA sites have been usurped by realtors and real estate agents. Though people have been waiting for decades to get a site, only the influential and the powerful are getting sites instead, they maintained.

Pointing out that though the previous Deputy Commissioner had written a number of times to the Government bringing to notice the massive irregularities that were going on in MUDA, they maintained that these letters did not get any response. As a result, one of the biggest scams, involving thousands of crores of rupees has taken place in MUDA, they said , adding that the Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh’s silence on the matter has raised suspicions.

Charging the Government of trying to hush up the scam, they questioned why the previous MUDA Commissioner G.T. Dinesh Kumar is not questioned and arrested in connection with the scam. Contending that the ongoing probe will not be of any help in punishing the guilty, they demanded a CBI probe into the scam in order to unearth all those involved in the scam.

The Sena Pade District President Tejesh Lokesh Gowda, office-bearers Prabhushankar, Krishnappa, Suresh Gold, P. Prajeesh, Shivalingaiah, Shantaraje Urs, Neha, Manjula, Varakudu Krishnegowda, Sindhuvalli Shivakumar, Naganna, Kumargowda, Bhagyamma, Narayangowda, Anil and others were present.
