MCC warns against drawing power from street-lights for illumination

The Executive Engineer of the Electricity Division of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has warned of initiating legal action against those drawing power from street-lights for illumination purpose. In a press release, the Executive Engineer has stated that organisations and public, who want to illuminate of install focus lights should take separate temporary connections from CESC and take all precautionary measures.

If power connection for illumination is drawn from streetlights, it will be termed as crime under Section 141 of the Indian Electricity Act-2023.
