Mysore/Mysuru: R. Cheluvaraju has been elected unopposed as the President of Mysuru Milk Union Limited (MyMUL). With this, Congress party has wrested power from JD(S), which was holding the post of President till recently.

Following the resignation of P.M. Prasanna from the post of MyMUL President recently, the post had fallen vacant, necessitating the election.

The election was scheduled on Aug. 7 at the premises of Mega Dairy in Alanahalli on Bannur Road in city.

Barring Cheluvaraju, the Congress supported MyMUL Director representing T. Narasipur, no others had filed their nominations for the President’s election.

Finally, Assistant Commissioner K.R. Rakshit, who was the Returning Officer (RO), announced the election of Cheluvaraju as the new President.

Cheluvaraju will be in office for a period of 22 months.
