Mysore/Mysuru: City’s 7th Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced a man to seven years rigorous imprisonment after he was found guilty of doubting his wife and murdering her.
The man who was sentenced is 35-year-old Rajesh, a resident of Bannimantap ‘C’ Layout in city while his deceased wife is Radha.
Rajesh and Radha were staying in Bannimantap ‘C’ Layout along with their children. Rajesh, who used to suspect his wife, had taken away her mobile phone and had kept it with him. He also used to doubt his wife whenever she used to wear good dresses and go out.
Rajesh, who did not go to work regularly, used to stay in the house and was not giving money to run the house. Fed up with this, Radha had told him to go to his native place which led to misunderstanding between them.
On Aug. 8, 2022 at about 6.30 am, Rajesh struck the right side portion of Radha’s head with a machete killing her, following which, house owner Mamatha lodged a complaint at Narasimharaja (NR) Police Station. The then NR Inspector Azaruddin, who conducted an investigation, had submitted the charge-sheet to the Court.
Judge M. Ramesh, who took up the case, heard the arguments from both sides, found accused Rajesh guilty of the crime and sentenced him to seven years rigorous imprisonment besides imposing a fine of Rs. 1,000. Public Prosecutor K. Nagaraj argued on behalf of the Government.
